Master Gardener

My earliest gardening experience was alongside my father in has large home vegetable gardens in Upstate New York and later suburban Pittsburgh. As an adult I have had a garden everywhere I have lived since the early 1980s

Training and Certifications:

● Master Gardener DC(1994)

● Volunteer US National Arboretum (1997)

● Sustainable Mini-Farming Course with Ecology Action (2000)

● Permaculture Design Course (2013)

● Intern at EcoCity Farms (2013)

● Prince George’s Audubon Society Habitat Advisor Training (2021)

I currently host Still Place: An Urban Retreat in my home and garden. It is through my work with Still Place that I first came to learn of R1:99. While not trained as a horticultural therapist, I know how healing the work of gardening and connecting with the natural world can be. It is my hope that my experience as a gardener and as a retreat leader and spiritual director may be of use to R1:99 in its work of healing and wholeness.
