“Eden” is our new economic empowerment program (EEP) for survivors of complex trauma. Survivors are taught to integrate wellness into all aspects of their lives as they learn job skills and ready themselves for permanent employment.
Eden is not just about training survivors how to make hand-crafted herbal bath and body products but is a safe place for them to heal.
Most EEPs are primarily about teaching a skill. At Eden, learning a job skill is secondary. Our primary focus is to help survivors develop a healthy community where they can learn to understand and practice workplace relationship so they are able to live the life they deserve to live.
Survivors of complex trauma must rely upon others to guide them through the quagmire of their traumatic stress. Many times, these supporters (family, friends, co-workers) are dealing with their own issues and may not know how to relate in a way that is supportive.

Because it is crucial that survivors have a healthy support system to heal, R1:99 offers community seminars and workshops on a variety of topics to help the helper, such as Overcoming Compassion Fatigue: The Cost of Caring, and Healing Circles for Professional Caregivers. If needed and/or desired, group sessions and even individual counseling can be provided for supporters.
